Meet the Leaders

Cory J Engel, P.E.

Founder and President

Thank you for visiting the CapuTech website. I'm certain you will find our site full of useful information regarding our solutions.

Having been an executive at major automation firms, I've gained an appreciation for what matters in this business. I've always felt that by owning my own business I could offer something better. There are three key areas which I feel are critical and these are the cornerstones of CapuTech's business model.

  • Service. It's an easy quality to strive for, but a difficult one to provide to the level desired by clients. My promise to you is that you will not deal with a more customer focussed company. We routinely go above and beyond to ensure you are fully satisfied with our solutions. CapuTech is not interested in one-off projects, but rather in developing long term relationships with our clients. To do so, we must provide a level of service that allows you to think of us as your go to source for any issues. At CapuTech, we strive to "make every client feel as though they are our only client".
  • Quality. At CapuTech, we have years of experience delivering automation projects. We've also seen the potentially disastrous results that can occur with poorly designed custom software. As a result, we base all our solutions off of completely open, standard technology. The CapuWare suite is based on Microsoft SharePoint and related Microsoft technologies. What does this mean to you? It virtually assures that your IT department approves of and already understands the technology. It assures easy scalability from a couple of users to a couple thousand. It assures a level of network security and integration that cannot be obtained with custom solutions. In short, it assures consistency and quality.
  • Value. I am confident that CapuTech's solutions deliver a higher level of value than any competitor's offerings. Why? We make our investments hiring the best people and leveraging the best technology - not the fanciest offices. Our corporate overhead is extremely low, while our professional staff is paid well above industry norms.
  • We are proud to offer some of the leading solutions in the automation industry. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Sincerely,

    Cory Engel

    The early days

When we developed CapuWare, we had the following goals in mind:

      • Create sofware that allows our users to improve their working lives.
      • Make our tools transparent and intuitive to use.
      • Listen to what our customers are saying about our software and how our users solve their problems.
      • Build a company culture that represents our values and who we are, where humanity is not an annoying incovenience.

When we set these goals, we had years of experience building enterprise software and knew that it was our users that needed to solve their problems using our software. We set out to build our first product, CapuWare Event Log, an operator log book. We chose Microsoft SharePoint for the application for it's immense flexibility it provides to users. We extended the functionality with the features our experience taught us an operator log book needed. Our customers thought it was really intuitive.

We believe our job lies not as much in building software from the ground up, but more in figuring out how to make software usable for our customers. CapuWare Reporting is a great example of this. Our customers asked us to build a reporting solution for Event Log. We focused our energy on a reporting tool built from scratch. We were chumps. Our customers told us they were using Microsoft SQL Reporting Services and we were back on track. We focused our energy on extending that tool with our expertise in enterprise databases and historians. That software became available to our users and it is a great success.

Our customers' input is always welcomed and we're always interested in how our software can be used to solve a problem.

We take pride in our project teams, their energy and optimism.
